Two teenagers are in hospital after being shot in Aston last night.

Details of the incident, at the junction of Albert Road an Upper Sutton Street, are sketchy.

All West Midlands police are saying is that two men aged 18 and 19 were found with gunshot wounds to the leg around 10.30pm. They've been taken to hospital but there's no suggestion their lives are in danger.

Police investigations are ongoing and Albert Road will remain closed this morning while forensic enquiries take place.

Pupils and staff from King Edward V111 Grammer School are advised that the school is open, but they will need to use the entrance at the back of the school in Frederick Road, as the front entrance is located in Albert Road, which is sealed off.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact police at Queens Road on 0845 113 5000
