Wow! What a selection of shows coming up around the West Midlands over the next few months - from Japanese punk femmes Shonen Knife to Beyonce, via “Rumours” era Fleetwood Mac. Oh, and a glorious homecoming for the wonderful Destroyers.

Peel favourites Shonen Knife head to the ever enterprising Hare and Hounds on 22 June . Can’t think these torch bearers for old school lo-fi have ever done a gig in these parts before, but if they did it was yonks ago.

R n B queen Beyonce Knowles, currently flaunting her Sasha Fierce alter ego, has only recently played a sell-out gig at the NIA – now she’s lining up another on November 12.

Tickets for the new date are priced £49.50 plus booking and transaction fee. Available from or 0844 338 8000.

Fleetwood Mac provided an alternative soundtrack to the Summer of Hate in ’77. Never mind the bollocks, here comes the, er…marital breakdown.

With criss-crossing affairs and ongoing divorces between various members of the band, their Rumours album was recorded against a backdrop so acrimonious it made the current Labour party seem positively fraternal.

Behind the big budget studio sheen there’s real pain – and some terrific performances. Here’s the aptly titled Go Your Own Way.

Forty million sales later, the Rumours line-up is reuniting, and closing a brief UK tour with a show on Tuesday 3 November.

Tickets are priced at £75.00, £60.00 and £45.00 and can be booked through or by calling 0844 338 800.

Meanwhile, riotous Brummie 15-piece The Destroyers will be celebrating the release of their début single 'Out of Babel' with a seven hour launch party at threatened Birmingham venue The Rainbow Warehouse on Friday 19 June.

Following hot on the heels of a London launch at Wilton's Music Hall on Friday 5 June, The Destroyers will return to their home city of Birmingham for an epic night of musical mayhem, with performances of new and unheard tracks from forthcoming début album, including single 'Out of Babel'.

The single, which will be released for download on 16 June, features The Destroyers at their very best – fast, madcap, melodic and unpredictable to the end.

'Out of Babel' is a collision of careering Klezmer rhythms and explosive Balkan brass, and features the raw beat poetry alongside an all-consuming and unforgettable chorus.

There will also be a gig at Birmingham Town Hall on October 11.
