Princes End By-Election

LIB LAB PACT TO KEEP OUT THE BNP

21-11-2007

The Stirrer has discovered details an amazing Lib-Lab pact in Princes End ahead of next month's Sandwell Council by-election. Several prominent Labour supporters, including a former councillor have been actively promoting their rival party with the blessing of fellow socialists.

Princes End, of course, is the seat vacated by James Lloyd of the BNP, who was expelled for failing to show at Council meetings for more than six months.

We've been told by several sources that Bob Lloyd (no relation to James Lloyd) who is the agent for Labour's Delia Edwards has been seen collecting nomination signatures for the Lib-Dem candidate Dorothy Brayshaw.

Even more remarkably, one of the names he's collected is that of his father - also called Bob - who used to be Labour councillor. Bob senior's wife is also on the Lib Dem candidate's list, as is a Mrs M Brookes, a member of the Princes End Labour party.

It all sounds very curious, but we're assured that there's nothing sinister in the arrangement - and those involved are unlikely to be disciplined by their own party.

Labour is simply determined to ensure that people who don't want to support either them or the Tories have a means of registering a protest vote - and they'd rather it went to the Lib Dems than the BNP.

If that means helping the party, which is poorly organised in Sandwell, then so be it.
