TOWN HALL AND SYMPHONY HALL NEWS

02-02-2010

A second show by Crowded House, a fancy dress salsa ball and a chance to go bear hunting are the latest attractions explained away by the venues’ PR man Lyle Bignon.

Due to phenomenal demand Crowded House have announced a second date at Symphony Hall, Birmingham, scheduled for 25th May. Tickets, priced £35, go on sale at 10am this morning.

Birmingham Town Hall Birmingham is to host a Salsa Ball with a difference this May Bank Holiday. Sunday 2nd May sees the opportunity for audience members to dance the night away in fancy dress themed around the letter P. Rohan Brown of leading independent promoters Salsafever will be hosting and playing music alongside DJs Robert White, Maverick Logan, Urel Brown and Mr *H*.

Classes teaching salsa, cha cha cha and new Cape Verde dance craze kizomba will take place from 6.30pm onwards, with a fancy dress competition and showcase performances taking the late night Latin spectacular through to a 2am finish.

We’re Going On A Bear Hunt is to take on a 29-date residency at THE Town Hall from 21st December until 12th January 2011, following on from summer success in London’s West End.

This adaptation of Michael Rosen’s much-loved story features catchy songs, interactive scenes and plenty of hands-on adventure. Vividly and noisily realised on stage by Sally Cookson’s direction and Benji Bower’s versatile score, the story follows a family's excitement as they wade, splash and squelch through a variety of imaginative environments in search of a bear.

Tickets are £10.50, with a £2 discount for groups of eight or more and 10% off all prices until 28th February 2010.
