Callum's Blues Blog

So Blues draw with Fulham and lose to Manchester United - disappointing, but not bad results considering we're a team fighting for survival.

We were very poor in the first half against the Cottagers - that's got to be relegation form. The second half, however, was completely different and Blues should really have stolen the game.

The Manchester United game however was going to be a game where we had to try and take it to the champions and try and come away with something from arguably the best team in the country.

We haven't come away with anything apart from knowing we gave it a good go and we will be looking forward to the cup tie with Huddersfield.

Blues and Mc Liesh will be looking towards the january transfer window and be looking to sign some good players.

I feel that Everton's James Mc Fadden should be a definite transfer target - he performed well for Alex McLeish in a Scotlan jersey and can't hold down a regular place at Goodison.

I also think over this Christmas period Mehdi Nafti has earned himself a new contract.

This January should be a busy period for Blues - hopefully we'll get the fresh faces we need to ensure we survive, just like when Steve Bruce signed Dugarry a few years ago.

My main concern is that we won't spend enough to get good players. I also think several squad members should be playing more regularly than they are now.

Daniel DeRidder, for example, is a class above Mc Sheffery and should be starting especially against teams like Fulham.

Also Palacios he seems a really good player with alot to give and should be playing more than at the moment.

Finally I'd like to mention thanks to Djourou whose help has been welcomed and all the best in the future now he's back at Arsenal.

Happy New Year.
