Andy’s Blues Blog

Aah, that’s more like it. Andy Munro relishes Blues midweek return to form.

Well, they say that football fans are fickle to such an extent that I’m thinking of getting a Mr. Fickle T Shirt.

After slagging off last weekend’s performance by Cameron ‘Teflon’ Jerome, he leads the forward line superbly and turns in a stunning performance with a brace of goals. His striking partner Chucho suddenly doesn’t look like a first year schoolboy mixing with the sixth formers.

In midfield, Fahy looks like an Irish international prospect again whilst Fergy reverts to his usual game of keepball. The fresh legs also appear to work a treat with Gardener playing with plenty of verve and Michel getting stuck in, in a way that will endear him to Blues fans’ everywhere..yet having the quality and confidence to play some ambitious forward passes.

Even without Stephen Carr, the defence reverted to its usual high standard and credit to Parnaby who acquitted himself excellently before his own personal injury hoodoo struck.

We may be out of the cup,one earlier round than the Villa but I’m now wishing I had found time to study and gain a degree in Europa League Qualification criteria.

The match against Everton could be key and I would be happy with a point to keep the points differential intact. Either way it would be nice to reach the 51 point mark and beat our previous best just to shut up Lily Savage!

Andy Munro would like to point out that 'my views are personal and not those of the City Council'
