7” LISTINGS

30-06-2009

Seven Inch cinema, - home of the wondrous Flatpack Festival – offers you the best of the West Midlands thriving “fringe” arts scene, with plenty of mainstream action besides. Watch out in their latest listings for Redditch Film Festival, Digbeth’s Supersonic music spectacular and a Paul “Taxi Driver” Schrader masterclass.

Firstly, a few 7inch things coming up...

SHIFT-TIME
3-12 July in Shrewsbury

As part of this ‘festival of ideas’ in Darwin’s hometown we’ll be showing a selection of evolutionary flicks in an inflatable tent in Quarry Park (on 4/5 July) and at the Old Market Hall (Sunday 12 July), all of it either free or cheap. Highlights include creepy French horror Eyes Without a Face, smooching snails in Microcosmos and surrealist films with live cello accompaniment by Bela Emerson.

Also at the festival are amazing wind-powered beasts built by Theo Jansen, a new film by Marcus Coates and all manner of tours, activities and talks.
